Business Analyst I Job at Pekin Insurance
Position Overview
The Business Analyst I is responsible for assisting the Business Analyst II and III in the implementation of enhancements within our systems and the testing of new products. This position will troubleshoot any existing products or procedures as well as accomplishing any relevant solutions.
Essential Job Functions
- Tests revisions and/or updates taking place on various systems for all new department products
- Participates in developing, implementing, and monitoring moderately complex departmental and company projects
- Answers questions from department personnel, Information Technology (IT), and other departments regarding department products
- Point of contact for department users regarding moderately complex computer problems and questions
- Liaison between department and IT for production problems, inquiries, etc.
- Reviews documents in production for accuracy and correctness
- Proofs revised and new forms such as endorsements, applications, policyholder letters, brochures, etc., where applicable
- Performs other duties as assigned
Education & Experience
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or IT Systems, or equivalent experience
- Typically requires 3+ years of experience in insurance industry
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Demonstrated skill in:
- using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approached to problems
Demonstrated ability to:
- recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems
- analyze, organize, and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines
- communicate effectively in both oral and written form
- maintain effective interpersonal relationships
- work comfortably in a fast-paced work environment
- have attention to detail and proven ability to consistently perform accurate work
- work overtime as required
Demonstrated knowledge of:
- Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access
