The Opportunity

Abt Associates’ Europe, Asia, and Latin America & Caribbean (EALAC) team is growing, and we are recruiting a Business Development Specialist to support our growing Asia portfolio.

In this position, you will work with multi-disciplinary teams, including technical teams, program delivery, and business development. You will have prior experience working in the international development sector and have a successful track record in developing winning proposals.

Core Responsibilities

• Managing capture and proposal teams.
• Supporting vision and strategy development for our proposals which meet our clients’ needs.
• Developing relationships with and selecting key partners for collaboration.
• Selecting key team members and proposal contributors and developing team structures.
• Writing key sections of proposals.
• Contributing to corporate strategies for climate smart agriculture, resilience, market systems. transformation, or other relevant technical areas with a particular focus on Asia.
• Support the management and delivery of USAID-funded projects, assuring contract compliance. from start up to close out, as well as client communications as needed.

Travel: Up to 20%

What We Value

• Bachelor’s Degree + 5 years of relevant experience, or master's degree + 3 years of relevant experience, or PhD.
• Prior experience working on USAID-funded projects
• Experience managing, writing, and developing winning proposals for USAID
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
• Creative and solution-orientated
• Be able to interact with individuals across all organizational levels successfully
• Be familiar with pipeline governance and/or BD proposal processes
• Proficiency in a second language, preferably Russian is desired

This position offers an anticipated annual base salary range of approximately $79,000 to $127,000 and may vary by ten percent depending on candidate geographic location.  Salary offers are made based on internal equity and market analysis.
