As a caregiver some of the tasks you will perform:
- Provide general attention to client’s non-medical needs in accordance with an established Plan of Care.
- Provide companionship for the client including, but not limited to: talking and listening, reading aloud, providing social and emotional support. Promote the client’s mental alertness through involvement in activities of interest. Provides emotional support and promotes a sense of well-being.
- Provide for a clean, safe, and healthy environment for clients and family members. Provide light housekeeping tasks including laundering of client’s garments and linens.
- May prepare and serve meals as directed. Ensure that dishes are washed and kitchen clean after each meal.
- Assist client in completing necessary phone calls, letter writing, etc. Accompanies client on walks, community trips, doctor’s office, bank, beauty salons, etc.
- Assist client with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, and oral hygiene.
- Assist clients with ambulation/transfers as specified in the Service Plan.
- Remind client to take self-administered medications.
Qualifications for caregiver:
- High School diploma or GED.
- Pass a background check and be bondable.
- Clear drug screen.
- Genuinely concerned about helping people and have high moral standards of honesty and integrity.
