The Category Insights Analyst will be a key player in continuing Daisy’s market strength as the #1 sour cream and cottage cheese brand. Daisy Sour Cream represents nearly 1 out of every 2 sour cream purchases in the United States. Daisy Cottage Cheese has grown more category dollars, during the past 3 consecutive years, than any other brand in the US . The Category Insight Analyst will be a go-to-category expert for developing insightful and actionable analysis, selling story presentations and planograms. To be successful in this role, one must demonstrate the ability to cut through data to identify what information is most important to the business, so the conclusions are effectively and persuasively communicated. Responsibilities
- Primarily responsible for the development and implementation of fact based sales presentations and planograms
- Understand industry, consumer and category trends and translating those insights into actionable strategic business recommendations to achieve both Daisy Brand and customer goals and objectives
- Provide proactive analysis and shopper insight driven recommendations against all key business drivers related to category business reviews, assortment & space optimization, promotion & pricing effectiveness
- Leverage all analytical tools from a variety of syndicated data sources such as IRI, Nielsen, Numerator, customer POS, and loyalty card data to discern trends, identify customer opportunities and provide insights-based recommendations
- Develop planogram strategies aligning with customer goals and shopper insights. Create planograms using JDA software and provide strategic and tactical merchandising recommendations.
Experiences/Background Requirements
- 4 Year Bachelors degree (concentration in Marketing, Business, or Communications preferred)
- 3+ years of experience in category management
- Excellent analytical & technical skills - experience with IRI/syndicated data, Numerator/Consumer Panel data, JDA, as well as Excel (including Power Query capabilities) and PowerPoint
- Ability to aggregate and utilize data to create compelling selling stories that support key brands/initiatives
- Strong time management skills and the ability to handle multiple projects, set priorities and plan
- Ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams as participant and/or leader
- Self-Starter with the ability to work independently in the absence of direct supervisor
