Cert Phlebotomist (Part Time 50% - Nights) Nursing Home - Adena Health System Job at Adena Health System
Under the direct supervision of the Phlebotomy Team Lead, the phlebotomist assumes the responsibility for performing venipuncture and related procedures under the philosophy, policies, and procedures established by the hospital and department. The phlebotomist is the departmental ambassador and is responsible for providing excellent customer service. This position does not have access to funds.
Position Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to operate standard business equipment such as phone, fax, printers, copy machine and computers.
- Demonstrates organizational skills, along with the ability to prioritize work.
- Pays attention to detail.
- Ability to work in fast paced, dynamic environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy, efficiency and professionalism.
- Ability to establish friendly and cooperative relations with those contracted, often while addressing patient and/or family concerns regarding procedures and testing.
Minimum/Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Previous experience as a phlebotomist or three months on the job training to learn basic phlebotomy skills
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Part Time/Night Shift; Hours: 3:00-7:00 am (Monday-Friday).Position will be required to take on calls for Night Shift (inpatient). Position will require you to drive to and from different nursing home facilities and have reliable transportation to do so. Mileage will be reimbursed, documentation required. Position also requires that you must be able to transport specimens to ensure sample quality is maintained.
