New York University: NYU - NY: Steinhardt School of Culture, Education and Human Development: Nutrition and Food Studies

Description

The Department of Nutrition and Food Studies at New York University invites applicants for a clinical assistant faculty position in clinical nutrition that will begin in September 2023. NYU Steinhardt provides undergraduate and graduate education in the areas of culture, education, and human development, and includes several departments focused on health and health services. We are seeking candidates with a strong teaching background to direct our didactic program in dietetics (DPD) and support our accredited undergraduate and master’s nutrition programs. The ideal candidate will have teaching and practice experience in clinical nutrition, and familiarity with the accreditation standards specified by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND).

We are committed to substantially increasing the proportion of our faculty from historically underrepresented groups as we strive to create the most intellectually diverse, inclusive, and equitable institution that we can, and especially encourage candidates from historically underrepresented groups to apply.

Responsibilities: The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in nutrition and dietetics, advise DPD students, serve on school committees, and direct the DPD program. The DPD program director has the primary responsibility for the program and for communicating with ACEND. The director will develop and manage all components of the program, which include ongoing program review, continuous program evaluation, communication and coordination with program faculty and students, timely submission of reports and documentation, and maintenance of student and program records.

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $70,000 - $140,000. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
