Summary
As the Cloud Engineer, you will handle the design, implementation and support of various systems and technologies in a hybrid (primarily Microsoft) environment.
As the Cloud Engineer, you will handle the design, implementation and support of various systems and technologies in a hybrid (primarily Microsoft) environment.
In addition to the skills required by a Systems Administrator for hybrid environments, and knowledge of skills required to provision, manage, monitor, and decommission cloud services, you will require additional knowledge and experience around technologies and techniques for automating the provision and management of infrastructure in a cloud environment. You will report to the Director, Infrastructure & Security.
Responsibilities
Cloud Engineer responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Design, deploy and support new systems, system integrations and system upgrades
- Troubleshoot and resolve tier 3 system issues
- Ensure security of responsible environments
- Mentor and train junior team members
- Maintain and continuously improve documentation related to the environment
- Adheres to all company and department policies and procedures
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in IT related field required
- 7-10 years progressive System Administrator experience with cloud experience
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 required
- Strong Windows system administration
- Strong scripting skillset (PowerShell)
- Multi-tier architectures: load balancers, web servers, application servers, databases, networking
- Understanding of cloud security best practices
- Design of self-healing and fault-tolerant services
- Basic understanding of relational and non-relational databases
- Infrastructure as Code (Bicep/ARM)
- Azure DevOps experience a plus
- Ability to work independently and in teams
- Enthusiasm to learn current and emerging technologies
- Must be a self-starter with strong problem-solving, analytical and communication skills
- Proven ability to address challenges and work with a results-orientated team
- Must be comfortable working in a project driven environment
- Must be able to clearly identify objectives and meet end goals
