Hours: Full-time (37.5 hours per week), 3 shifts per week, 12.5 hours each - Day and Night shifts available

Providing care for our small community of individuals with intellectual disabilities during this time depends on the best care, and the safest practices. We are committed to the well-being and safety of all individuals in our community, employees and clients alike. All of our health professionals providing direct care are receiving a “health-check” daily upon arriving on-site, and we are following all guidelines set forth related to COVID health and safety procedures.

The Residential Technician focuses on supporting individual's progress towards goals that are identified as meaningful by individuals and their support resources, as well as provide supports for the overall health and safety of all of the individuals. Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and Direct Support Provider (DSP) skills are highly desired!

Required Education and Experience:

• Knowledge skills and abilities comparable to that of a high school graduate are required.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is required.
• CNA certificate is preferred but not required.
• Valid Driver’s License is required.

Related Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge and ability to utilize personal protective equipment in a manner that is compliant with standard precautions and safety expectations; Ability to safely assist individuals with all aspects of physical management including equipment use, safe lifting and physical assistance; Ability to lift and transfer consumers up to an average of 50 to 80 pounds; Ability to participate in and successfully pass behavioral intervention training; includes both verbal de-escalation skills and physical skills techniques to be utilized with consumers as needed; Able to respond quickly to correct situations deemed to be hazardous especially to consumers; Knowledge of electronic health records and documentation standards as required by the program; Regular attendance at trainings and Horizon meetings may require travel to a variety of Horizon sites; Knowledge and ability to operate a computer, electronic time sheet, and other software/systems used by Horizon; Willing and available to work modified schedules (weekends, holiday, etc.) as required; Ability to drive and must possess a valid driver’s license - may be called upon to travel to any Horizon worksite; transport clients, provide services to clients at other locations.
