Job Summary*
- Process all OASIS data and application of ICD-10 CM coding according to federal/state regulations and Lorian policies/procedures.
- Notify Coding Supervisor of needed corrections to either the 485 or OASIS documentation
- Report ongoing corrections needed to a Coding Supervisor for additional education needs.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Current ICD-10 Coding Certification.
- OASIS certification, preferred
- Completion of coding specific coursework required
- Minimum of 1 year previous experience with Home Health and/or Hospice ICD-10 coding with verified employment/experience are required.
- Knowledge of and ability to follow appropriate skilled documentation under Medicare guidelines and conditions of participation.
- Knowledge of Patient Driven Grouping Models (PDGM)
- Knowledge of insurance reimbursement procedure.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information.
- Ability to be flexible, follow verbal and written instruction while working in a team oriented environment.
- Detail oriented with critical thinking and strong clinical judgement and analytical skills are required.
- Ability to demonstrate flexibility in response to unexpected changes in work volume and work schedule are required.
- Excellent interpersonal relation skills including active listening, conflict resolution, and team building are required.
- Communicates effectively with the clinical and office staff involved in any given case in a constructive, goal directed, and professional manner
- Experience with multiple EMRs is preferred.
- Excellent computer skills to include Microsoft applications (i.e. Word/Excel) and ability to type at least 40 wpm
Education:
- Graduate of Bachelor is Science in health field, preferred
- Graduate of an approved school of practical/vocational/registered nursing, preferred.
