Collection System Operator - Water Pollution Control Job at City of Topeka
This is an entry-level “foot in the door” position for those individuals seeking a long-term career with stable employment and great benefits in an interesting and challenging work environment.
The City of Topeka's Utility Department is seeking to fill an Collection Systems Operator position.
Position duties include but not limited to operating, maintaining and making minor repairs on a wide variety of heavy equipment. Respond and assist to utility related calls such as overflows and blockages. Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on wastewater and storm water collection systems, flood control assets and facilities.
Will provide training and assistance on company-paid time to obtain a class A Kansas commercial driver's license (CDL) which is required by the conclusion of six months of employment.
Minimum qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent, must possess and maintain a valid Kansas driver’s license and meet City insurability guidelines. Please review the Insurability Guidelines.
$19.48 per hour.
