About You
Large, high-volume, growing OB/GYN practice in Plainview seeking a collections representative. Looking for a self-motivated hard worker who is willing to learn more from us in a mutually beneficial work environment. Will train the right candidate.
Job Description:
- Call past due customers to arrange and ensure payment on their account
- Handle calls from past due customers referred by reception
- Answer heavy volume of incoming calls
- Bilingual is a beneficial but not a requirement
- Must be able to utilize computer programs (IE. EMR system, Microsoft Word, Excel - will train if needed)
- Determine reason for denial and appeals accounts as necessary
- Reviews and edits any rejections stemming from electronic billing submissions and corrects and resubmits claims
- Detail oriented and ability to complete tasks accurately with a sense of urgency
- Generates bills to patients for services not covered by insurance
- Investigates over-payments and takes appropriate action to resolve by initiating refund requests in accordance with departmental procedures
- Responds to requests for information and telephone inquiries from patients, insurance carriers, and outside agencies in a courteous manner.
- Must be able to work independently and as well as in a team setting
