JOB TITLE - Housekeeping Staff

We are actively hiring and looking to quickly fill openings in our Housekeeping and Laundry Department. Candidates with prior hotel and hospitality experience are encouraged to apply, but the experience is not necessary for employment. Candidates who enjoy the satisfaction that comes along with cleaning and providing guests with a well-presented and sanitized guestroom are encouraged to apply. Any prior experience in cleaning or janitorial roles is a plus.

Due to COVID-19 we are NOT providing DAILY HOUSEKEEPING service for stay-over rooms at this time! You will never be required to enter a guestroom while it is occupied by guests. We offer a "partial service" option for guests staying longer than 3 days which consists of: replenishing towels, removing trash, and restocking room amenities such as coffees, cups, and soaps.

JOB OVERVIEW

A typical day for Housekeepers' at our Comfort Suites starts at 9am and ends at 4pm, depending on hotel occupancy levels. Our houseman begins the day by stripping the vacant rooms of soiled linens and trash, leaving the housekeeper to come behind and make the bed, clean and sanitize the room and bathroom, then restock the room with amenities such as coffees, soaps/shampoos, and fresh towels which will be stocked on their carts.

Duties may include but are not limited to: stripping rooms of soiled linens, removing garbage, making beds, replenishing towels and linens, cleaning/sanitizing rooms, bathrooms, and hallways. Housekeepers may also be assigned to work in or assist with Laundry which includes: sorting, washing, drying, folding, and stocking or delivering linens; additional tasks may be assigned as requested/assigned by management.

Our housekeepers are responsible for cleaning anywhere from 8 to 14 rooms per day. After a housekeeper completes their board they may be assigned additional duties such as assisting in the folding process of towels and sheets as a laundry attendant. We provide on-going training and support for our team and encourage growth by promoting from within. We consider everyone on our team as a vital piece of our Comfort Suites family.

We are filling this position with several high-energy Housekeeping and Occasional Laundry Attendants' for our high-performing and award-winning Comfort Suites Hotel located in Tampa, Florida directly across from the Florida State Fairgrounds & minutes from the Seminole Hard Rock Casino on US-301 and I-4 exit 7. This flagship hotel also ranks in the Top 3 hotels on TripAdvisor in Tampa and is a Choice Hotels Gold Award-Winning property since 2015.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Self-starting personality with great attention to detail. Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times. Can communicate well with guests and provide an exceptional and hospitable experience. Must be willing to “pitch-in” and help co-workers with their job duties, and be a team player. Ability to stand, move, and continuously perform essential job functions. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, customers, and patrons. Frequently lifts, carries, or otherwise moves and positions objects weighing up to 20lbs when stocking supply room or setting up equipment. Typically bends, stoops, and crouches on a regular basis. Constantly moves about to coordinate work.
