SUMMARY: This position is primarily responsible for creating educational and networking resources for commercial practitioners in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex by coordinating and planning the activities of the Commercial Committee and MetroTex Commercial Data Exchange (MCDX) Board of Directors. In addition, through direct relationships and contacts, this position delivers timely information on regional economic development, industry issues and business opportunities for commercial members of the Association.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepares meetings packets and meeting notifications for the Commercial Committee, as well as the MetroTex Commercial Data Exchange (MCDX) Board of Directors and submits reports from these committees to the MetroTex Board of Directors for information and/or action as needed.
  • Submits material to the Marketing and Communications department to be distributed as monthly commercial updates for the Association membership.
  • Collaborates with the National Association of REALTORS (NAR) Commercial Services Division and the Commercial Services of the Texas REALTORS® to deliver national and state resources to Association members, and continually promotes the utilization of these resources to commercial practitioners.
  • Collects and assembles information on an annual basis for the submission of the National Association of REALTORS (NAR) Commercial Services Accreditation
  • Networks with local Chamber of Commerce or Economic Development Offices, neighboring associations and local business groups to learn about networking opportunities with developers and business opportunities within the market area.
  • Collaborates with Commercial designees (CCIM, SIOR, CPM, RLI, CRE) among the Association membership to act as a proponent of commercial services.
  • Assists the Professional Development Director in creating local programs and educational opportunities that stimulate an interest in commercial property transactions.
  • Actively promotes brand awareness by being present and visible at all Association sponsored commercial classroom offerings
  • Travels to state and national industry conferences to participate in the commercial committee meetings and forums and to establish and nurture relationships with National Association of REALTORS (NAR) Affiliated organizations.
  • Responsible for timely response to all departmental voicemail and email inquiries.
  • Maintains company established filing and record keeping systems.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or required by management.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This job has no supervisory responsibilities.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree (BA) from four-year college or university, or one to two years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Computer skills required: Must be proficient using Microsoft Office Suite, Internet Software, Adobe Pro
  • Other skills required:
    • Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Writes clearly and informatively; edits work for spelling and grammar; varies writing style to meet needs; presents numerical data effectively; able to read and interpret written information.
