PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION:

To create, design and develop effective communication plans, materials, processes, and programs in support of company initiatives and business changes to ensure key objectives are achieved.

MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

  • Collaborates with internal partners and external resources to develop and implement communication plans that support business needs, align with the company’s core values, and drive results.
  • Assesses the level of communication support needed for an initiative or change considering business impact, visibility, and complexity.
  • Creates and delivers assigned content with a consistent brand voice while adapting tone and style to meet the needs of the specific message, leader, audience, or channel.
  • Manages communication projects to gain required approvals and monitors and ensures proper rollout of communication to the intended audience. Ensures communication plans align with broader organizational goals and initiatives.
  • Analyzes audience needs and business goals to recommend appropriate channels and tactics. Proactively seeks out, evaluates, and promotes new avenues including technology based for communication efforts or to improve current efforts.
  • Prepares multi-media presentations for employee or leader meetings that are engaging and succinct. Helps prepare presenters by reviewing draft presentations ahead of a scheduled meeting, coordinating practice sessions where needed, ensuring any needed technology resources are available, and scheduling meetings
  • Maintains quantitative and qualitative measurement and evaluation processes to assess the effectiveness of communications.
  • Evaluates communication programs and processes; identifies lessons learned and recommends changes for future campaigns based on results.
  • Works closely to align work with principles and methodology of effective organizational change management. Partners closely with change management practitioners in order to achieve expected outcomes and adoption.
  • Supports developing an effective internal communications capability throughout the organization. Provides communication tools, templates, and coaching to business areas where needed/requested.
  • Supports the maintenance of a SharePoint site to house organizational communications in a manner that allows employees to access and add content in a secure, efficient, and consumable way. Monitors others company media, including internal websites to ensure content is adhering to guiding principles, alignment with core values, and company policies and procedures.
  • Keeps supervisor informed of important developments, potential problems, and related information necessary for effective management. Coordinates and communicates plans and activities with others, as appropriate, to ensure a coordinated work effort and team approach.
  • Performs related work as apparent or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Bachelor’s Degree in communication, journalism, marketing, or related field.
  • At least 3 years of corporate communications experience required.
  • Extensive understanding of communication methodologies with the ability to define a flexible, unique approach based on the business team and working environment.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing, with business leaders and collaborate cross-departmentally.
  • Strong internal customer service focus and ability to build effective working relationships and provide influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Exceptional project management skills with the ability to operate under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills and effective problem-solving skills.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office and software including SharePoint, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with the utmost judgment and discretion
