Compounding/Batch Operator - Night Shift, 12 Hours Job at Nice-Pak

POSITION PURPOSE

Compounder is also responsible for batch integrity and ensuring all personnel working in the compounding department adhere to SOPs and Work Instructions (WI) for batching liquid and or the conveyance of liquid to converting equipment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

  • Compounder shall provide communication of any event or issue that may impact operations of the shift, department, plant, and/or the company to the next shift Compounder. Any problem that may impact the department, plant, or company shall be reported to the Compounding Lead.
  • Compounder shall safely adhere to required FDA regulations, Nice-Pak SOPs and WIs, and ensure that all persons working or visiting the Compounding area safely follow SOPs and WIs. Compounder shall assist in creating and or revising SOPs and WI s.
  • Shall wear department issued/required protective clothing and protective gear for this job.
  • Compounder is responsible for using FIFO consumption of all chemical and supply lots.
  • Compounder shall be capable of IAing batch components, and RBing finished liquids.
  • Compounder is responsible for safely transferring chemicals from and to necessary locations and ensuring that appropriate chemical inventory transactions are done accordingly.
  • Compounder is responsible for reporting all safety issues occurring on their shift and filling out the appropriate paperwork.
  • At the beginning of each shift, Compounder shall report to the Compounding Lead for shift assignments. The Compounding Lead shall assign duties to Compounders based on Compounding department needs per shift and/or as shift needs change.
  • Compounder is responsible for maintaining clean areas in the chemical warehouse and in the entire compounding department, and areas under and around liquid tanks not directly connected to the compounding area, each shift shall present a clean department to the next shift.
  • Compounder shall maintain proper storage of all chemicals.
  • Compounder is responsible for taking empty drums from the compounding department/chemical warehouse to the empty drum trailer and neatly stacking the empty drums in the drum trailer, then record the transaction on Drum Truck Loading Log. Place empty skids in appropriate warehouse locations.
  • Compounder shall exact all ISO and cGMP Nice-Pak work instructions and standard operating procedures.
  • Compounder shall ensure that all records are completed and ready for processing/filing i.e. Log entries, Batch sheets, D.I. System check sheets, Waste Treatment entries, Boiler Check sheets, etc.
  • Compounder shall assist with corrective action requests when needed on their shift for Safety, SOP and WI infractions.
  • Compounders shall at times be responsible for safely handling hazardous chemicals, i.e., Hydrochloric Acid and Sodium Hydroxide, and be responsible for adhering to appropriate Material Safety Data Sheets, SOPs, and labeling procedures.
  • All other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:

  • Functional experience working in a fast pace, time-sensitive environment
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and strong organizational skills such as multitasking and prioritizing work functions.
  • Solid analytical skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to perform basic arithmetic calculations.
  • Must be able to pass a series of tests related to Compounding duties.
  • Must be physically capable of performing job

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • 1+ years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment following cGMP regulations, SOP and Work Instructions.
  • Experience with compounding or batching liquids preferred.
  • Experience working in an FDA-regulated environment preferred.

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Possess good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Handles conflicts in a professional manner
  • Willing to work overtime and weekends as required
  • Willing to train on CGMP requirements and company policies and procedures
