Computer Teacher/STEM Activities Coordinator

Our welcoming community seeks an innovative teacher to provide both the basics in computing, as well as work with students on emerging technologies in an after school setting. The International School of Minnesota is located on 56 beautiful acres in the highly-accessible city of Eden Prairie, Minnesota. ISM offers outstanding facilities and equipment conducive for STEM instruction and learning.

Computer Teacher:

This exciting opportunity to teach students, in grades 1 – 9, how to use different computer applications such as: word processing, spreadsheets and various databases –will prepare them for college and beyond. Designing lesson plans that incorporate several types of technology into instruction, as well as give students the basics needed for computing. The curriculum for computer classes covers topics such as operating systems, programming languages and software applications used in specific fields such as engineering and graphic design. Many courses utilize a provided curriculum, designed by SABIS® Educational System, leaving the teacher to do what you do best – Teach!! The Computer Teacher may be asked to assist in evaluating new computer technologies and applications that could be used in our classrooms and possibly conducting teacher training workshops on effective uses of technology in the classroom.

Activities Coordinator:

In leading STEM-based afterschool activities, the STEM Activities Coordinator role will work closely with the Athletics & Activities Director (AAD), to develop truly engaging clubs for students of various grade levels. Explore the possibilities within the STEM fields with dedicated stakeholders– to help create and lead hands-on learning through the use of cutting-edge technologies.

Position Details:

This is a full-time, salary exempt position and is benefits eligible.

This position is a 10-month time commitment, following the ISM teaching calendar.

The standard work hours for this on-site teaching position, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (Monday-Friday).
