Job Description:
The Earthworks Foreman is responsible for supervising and coordinating the work of their crew for mass excavation, and detailed excavation material hauling operations on assigned projects. The Foreman will provide leadership and ensure their crews' and equipment's safety and productivity. They are responsible for ensuring that all employees do their job skillfully and efficiently and that assigned work progresses on schedule.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of related experience in the civil construction industry
- 3+ years of experience in a Foreman position
- Proficient in all aspects of earthwork; mass excavation, detailed excavation, and material management.
- Promote a safe work culture and ensure all crew members maintain safe working conditions - Lead by example
- Environmentally conscious and respectful
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Positive attitude and leadership skills with the ability to motivate and mentor crew members
- Effective advanced planning and problem-solving skills
- Clear understanding of drawings and blueprints for project scope, and identify with the superintendent potential scope gaps.
- Ability to manage crews and control project costs.
- Ability to look ahead 3-weeks and pro-actively identify issues
- Perform daily costing and utilize resources to maximize profitability
- Complete daily reports, documents, and paperwork as required by the company
- Must be able to meet all company/customer safety requirements and applicable policies
- Maintain company image and site cleanliness
- Ability and willingness to operate various types of heavy equipment
- Ability to work overtime as required
- Analytical problem-solving skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Pass mandatory Drug and Medical Screening
- Valid Driver’s License (Class 5)
- Ability to read blueprints
