The Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Administrator reports to members of the Phillips Lytle (“the Firm”) management team and is responsible for the administration of the Firm’s CLE and AdvanceU (internal Phillips Lytle training) programs for all Firm offices, ensuring compliance with relevant state requirements as well as ensuring the Firm remains in good standing as a New York Accredited CLE Provider. The CLE Administrator also supports other professional development activities for all Firm Practice Groups.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Work with members of the executive team to establish programming; assess and fulfill needs for CLE events; work to develop programs not included in the core curriculum and training initiative; and work with Practice Development and Marketing Department personnel to produce CLE programs for clients.

- Review course materials and other program documentation to ensure compliance with accreditation standards, rules, and regulations; maintain program calendars, evaluations, attendance sheets, and presenter information for in-house and client programs; finalize accreditation packages; issue certificates of attendance; review and analyze program evaluations and summarize results; prepare year-end reports; process renewal applications and other mandatory CLE reports to ensure the Firm’s accredited provider status in New York and other applicable jurisdictions as needed; prepare electronic course books and maintain on demand video library; communicate updates on CLE regulations, programs, deadlines, compliance status, etc.; perform CLE compliance verifications for attorneys on on-going basis for registration and license renewals.

- Prepare and submit applications to the New York State Continuing Legal Education Board for approval; and provide verifications for processing of attorney registration renewals; approve and process registrations for non-Firm accredited CLE programs for attorneys through outside CLE Providers; reconcile expenses.

- Keep abreast of CLE regulations in the various jurisdictions in which the Firm’s lawyers are licensed; maintain CLE credits and AdvanceU points in the Firm’s CLE tracking system; maintain relationships with outside CLE resources to offer additional CLE programming to Firm attorneys; manage relationship with Practising Law Institute (PLI), including maintenance of user credentials and membership roster, identify programs available; maintain relationship with the New York CLE Board as a Firm representative

- Assist with other Firm-sponsored professional development and educational pursuits for attorneys, including attendance at programs sponsored by bar association and professional association memberships; assist attorneys and staff with obtaining credits for and otherwise complying with requirements of non-legal certifications, including training sessions by legal research vendors; schedule Erie County Bar Association Volunteer Lawyers Project in-house training sessions, and maintain attendance records.

- Participate in orientation sessions for all new attorneys.

Required Skills:

- Experience with CLE compliance in New York preferred.

- Prior law firm experience preferred.

- Excellent interpersonal, client service and written and verbal communication skills; high attention to detail and able to edit work for spelling, grammar, and Firm format; ability to effectively interface with attorneys at all levels, staff, clients and outside vendors.

- Highly responsive; exercise good judgment, excellent organizational skills, and strong attention to detail; ability to prioritize workload, multitask, and work well under pressure; competent with sensitive and confidential information.

- Able to work independently as well as with a team; able to push projects forward and meet deadlines.

- Strong technical skills, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
