Develop, manage, and maintain reliable accounting information and reporting on income, expenses, assets, liability, and capital for management planning and decision making and for fulfillment of financial reporting requirements. Reconcile GL and bank accounts. Manage the activities of the accounting department and staff. Ensure that reports, accounts, systems, policies and practices adhere to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Manage accounting functions to include AP, AR, budgets, cash flow, cost management, credit and collections, financial analysis, financial reporting and recordkeeping, GL, investments, payroll, and taxes. This includes but is not limited to preparation of the monthly board packet. * Implement policies and procedures for the accounting department and ensure that policies and procedures reflect current regulations and are communicated to and implemented by subordinates. * Reconcile revenue reports, unbilled variances, special projects, payroll and timesheet reports, and claims disbursements. Prepare daily balance sheet (loan and share) examination. Prepare daily cash position assessment. * Responsible for general ledger reconciliation, examination of financial accounts, and preparation of journal entries. Provide end-of-moth close and produce monthly financial statements. Prepare or assist with incurred cost and provisional rate reports as necessary. * Ensure that all activities of the department are in accordance with GAAP and that the accounting records are maintained accurately and in compliance with laws and regulations. * Maintain a highly motivated, well-trained accounting department staff, evaluating the performance of the staff on a regular basis. Resolve employee questions or conflicts. * Develop and implement processes to streamline accounting procedures. * Develop and maintain complex computer-based analyses and reports of accounting records on a regular basis. * Provide regular reports to management of all online accounting activities for the accounting/ bookkeeping department. * Monitor fixed-asset management. * Assist in the preparation and execution of external audits and regulatory examinations. * Assist in the preparation and filing of the NCUA 5300 report, and other regulatory filings as required. * Conduct special accounting studies, analyses, and special projects as requested by management. * Provide input as requested on the Asset/Liability Committee (ALCO), Finance Committee. Participate in monthly board meetings and financial reports to the board as requested by senior management. * Drafts and implements appropriate policies, internal controls, accounting standards and best practices to support achievement of objectives and required outcomes. * Assists senior management in financial planning and results management through quarterly forecasts and annual budgeting. Understands primary drivers of financial outcomes and suggests strategic plans to maximize results. * Ensures compliance with federal, state, local, and organizational laws, regulations, guidelines, and best practices, including but not limited to tax laws, generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), and state and federal credit union regulations. * Maintains knowledge of developments and trends in finance and accounting including technological advances. * Facilitates implementation of new systems and major modifications of existing systems to ensure best practices and operational efficiencies and advancement. * Promotes organization within the community by active involvement in networking/chamber events, financial literacy and career day presentations, and sponsored school events. * Assist with annual risk assessments including but not limited to Member Business Loan, Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and ACH. * Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. * Thorough understanding of and personal involvement with systems and methodologies of finance and accounting. * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. * Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. * Strong supervisory and leadership skills. * Excellent written and spoken English. Requires ability to communicate courteously and professionally, * Attention to detail, able to comply with strict deadlines.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
