About The Role

As a member of the Glacier Solutions Development (“GSD”) team, the Quality Assurance Specialist reports to the Quality Assurance Lead. The primary focus of this position is to test and perform quality assurance (QA) validation on business process solutions for assigned application(s) throughout the development lifecycle. This role will be responsible for testing supporting for workflow-driven system processes provided to the bank, such as Lending, Teller, New Accounts, Compliance, Quality Control, and Core Banking interface solutions. Keeps all relevant technical documentation up to date as assigned. Participates in testing for new systems, releases, new features, enhancements, and break/fix solutions. On project and strategic efforts, works in cross-functional teams to provide QA and testing support of new or current production systems. This position will be expected to work in and follow industry standard waterfall and agile development/project delivery lifecycles. Adherence to structured software change and release management processes and procedures is required. This position will be considered a representative of the IT Department to all levels of bank groups and management, so professionalism and diplomacy to gain trust is critical to the success of the position.

The mid-point for this position is $26.76+ /hour (calculated for Kalispell, MT).
All compensation offers are analyzed individually and take into consideration multiple factors including but not limited to geographic location, years of experience, and educational background.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Executes on quality assurance testing scripts and secure code reviews, both at a functional level and a code level, for software products and releases that impact the organization’s business services and operations as assigned.

  • Creates, maintains, and provides all necessary documentation on testing validation, quality assurance reviews, and secure code reviews.

  • Executes on effective and efficient testing scenarios and uses testing tools or works with third parties as needed.

  • Upholds all Standard Operating Procedures as outlined in policy, procedures, and standards.

  • Analyzes and occasionally collects the business and functional requirements from all levels of the organization, and then transfers that knowledge into accurate and inclusive testing plans.

  • Provides judgment, advice, recommendations, and best practices on systems to help senior management make informed decisions that impact peers and employees at all levels of the organization.

  • Must comply with all company policies and procedures and all applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control. Must complete the assigned online training courses and achieve a passing score by due date.

  • Ability to consistently represent the GBCI IT Department in a positive and professional light.

Additional Requirements

Travel

Occasional travel required: (less than 10 days per year) by automobile (as driver and passenger), commercial airlines, rental vehicles and public transportation and be able to lodge in public facilities.
