Courts Interpreter - Courts Administration Job at Fort Bend County
Responsible for providing written translation and verbal interpretation from a source language into English language in a court of record in order to ensure that the message is being accurately delivered and understood between citizens and court employees. Participates in planning of programs, policies or objectives for own work group and department.
- Translates documents and related material used in the District and County Courts at Law.
- Provides information to non-English speaking customers or visitors by telephone and in person.
- Contacts and schedules outside interpreters for Spanish, other foreign languages and sign language for District and County Courts at Law.
- Requisitions the service of interpreters; Processes invoices for payments.
- Follows changes to State and Federal Laws that regulate interpreting and translating services and communicating these changes to all courts.
- Plans, develops, and implements language policies, goals, objectives and priorities for the District and County Courts at Law.
- Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.
SALARY RANGE: $63,232.00 - $79,144.00 yearly based on qualifications
