POSITION OVERVIEW:
Our team of Custodial Services Worker provides janitorial and cleaning services for state office buildings and private companies and other facilities at various sites throughout Oahu.The work is more than just a job. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBLITIES:
Position Specific Duties:

• Maintains cleanliness in assigned areas of the facility
• Disinfects surface areas.
• Dusts lights, furniture, and other horizontal surfaces.
• Dry mops hard floor surfaces.
• Vacuums carpets.
• Empties and cleans trash containers and ashtrays.
• Spot cleans walls and windows.
• Uses the high speed buffer to burnish hard floor surfaces.
• Mixes basic cleaning solutions.
• Work requires prolonged walking and standing, frequent bending, reaching and stooping
• Cleans and maintains assigned equipment.
• Notifies supervisor of equipment and facilities needing repair or replacement.
• Complies with applicable (SOH) Safety Occupational Health requirements.
• Wears prescribed SOH equipment, reporting unsafe conditions or activities, preventing avoidable mishaps, and working in a safe manner.
• Reports any missing or damaged equipment considered a safety hazard immediately.
• Reports all accidents/injuries to lead or assistant manager and seeks care for injuries through MEDCOR immediately.

Other Duties

• Follows all safety procedure and practices, and that safeguards and proper safety gear, such as gloves, are used when appropriate.
• Follows established work rules, standards of conduct, policies, procedures and practices.
• Performs other reasonably related business duties as assigned.
• Completes training as mandated by organizational policy.

WORKING CONDITIONS/HOURS:

• Generally, works Monday through Friday, 7:30 am – 4:00 pm, may be required to work outside of normal business hours. Some assignments require work around a seven-day-per-week schedule Overtime must be preapproved by Custodial Services Assistant Manager.
• Outdoors, travel to other program sites, meeting sites, etc., as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Required:

• Clearances/Certificates: 1) TB clearance, 2) Criminal background check; 3) Pre-employment drug and alcohol testing; 4) Child Protective Services/Adult Protective Services check.

Preferred:

• Education: High school diploma or DOE Certificate of Completion or equivalent
• Experience: Vocational training in custodial and janitorial services, general building maintenance, with knowledge of safety practices related to custodial or maintenance services.
• Clearances/Certificates: CPR/First Aid Certification, Bloodborne Pathogens certification;
• Valid driver’s license and clean drivers abstract

Frequent: Standing, walking, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or squatting, handling/push/pull (work with hands, arms, fingers), lifting/carrying below 25 lbs., lifting/carrying 26 – 50 lbs., seeing (able to clearly see 20 feet or more) talking, hearing.Occasionally: Sitting, color vision, travel.Seldom: Climbing (ascending/descending ladders, stairs), feeling (perceiving attributes i.e., size, shape, temperature, texture), lifting/carrying above 50 lbs.Rarely: Tasting.
