Central Oregon Pediatric Associates (COPA) of Bend, Oregon, the largest pediatric practice in the region, is hiring a full time Data Analyst (Healthcare Analytics). This opportunity is located in Central Oregon and is local remote/hybrid.
At COPA, the Data Analyst plays an integral role serving patients at our friendly and welcoming medical clinic for children of all ages. The Data Analyst is responsible for supporting in the design, development, implementation and coordination of complex data compilation and analysis that promotes and support the organization’s initiatives including operational reports, trending operational data, dashboards and KPIs, and analytical reports.

The role of the Data Analyst will include but is not limited to the following duties:
Maintains an in-depth knowledge of principles, practices, standards, and techniques and demonstrates knowledge in accordance with COPA policies and procedures within pertinent laws and regulations in the following areas:
- Analyze, design, documents, develop, test, implement and maintain reporting interfaces, including alerts, prompts, screen dashboards, templates, and data extracts.
- Build analytics tools that help visualize and utilize the data to provide insight into operational efficiency and other key business performance metrics.
- Perform accurate and complete data extraction and analysis from data systems to meet project and reporting requirements.
- Assess the data needs of end-users through investigations, analysis, and evaluation and create needed end-user reporting documents.
- Interpret and analyze data from multiple sources including claims, provider, member, encounters data and gap lists. Identify and assess the business impact of trends
- Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot complex scripts and reports developed using SQL, Microsoft Excel, or other analytics tools
- Identify and resolve data, process, and technical issues and communicate root-cause with stakeholders as appropriate
- Partner cross-functionally at all levels of the organization and effectively, both verbally and visually, communicate findings and insights to non-technical business partners
- Independently engage with business leaders to understand market-specific levers and constraints
- Research key business problems and proactively identify opportunities for cost and utilization improvements through quantitative analysis
- Communicate and present data-driven insights and recommendations to both internal and external stakeholders, soliciting and incorporating feedback when required
- Responsible for maintaining data integrity and the ongoing quality control of delivered data
- Assist with quality assurance (testing) and documentation of testing results through standard procedures and processes.

Qualifications
Education and Certification:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, statistics, mathematics, actuarial science, public health, health informatics, healthcare administration, finance or related field or equivalent experience.
Experience:
- Epic EMR experience required. 5+ years of experience working with large databases, data verification, and data management or 3+ years IT experience. Healthcare analytics experience preferred. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Use of clear and audible speaking voice and the ability to hear normal speech level in person, over the telephone or through use of other required technology. Sitting or standing for long periods of time. Frequent repetitive motion includes computer keyboard use, reaching with hands and arms, and walking. Occasional lifting and or moving up to 30 pounds and on rare occasions up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include viewing computer monitor for long periods of time, close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
- Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Working Conditions:
- Position may qualify to be located local-remote to include periodic on-site meetings and shifts in COPA clinics, business office or community partners.
- Travel between COPA clinics, business office and community partners as required.
