Database Administrator Job at Lake County Board of County Commissioners

Job Summary:
The Database Administrator coordinates and supervises the management of computer systems that store, organize and process data for assigned County departments. The position oversees the management of enterprise applications that connect to and utilize these systems. The position is also responsible for installing and maintaining key databases and applications necessary to meet the business needs of the departments, resolving hardware and software problems, maintaining database security and integrity, and performing related technical, administrative and supervisory duties as required.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Ability to read and write complex SQL queries, scripts, stored procedures, SSIS packages, and DTS packages required.
- Installation, configuration and administration of Microsoft SQL server and related software including but not limited to: SQL Management Studio
SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
SSIS packages
Visual Studio for creation of SSIS packages
Integration Services Catalogs
- Ability to troubleshoot database problems and find solutions to resolve those problems
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills required
- Basic knowledge and understanding of software and application design
- Detail orientated with ability to prioritize critical items while adapting to a changing environment
- Ability to handle high request volume while maintaining friendly and professional demeanor
- Proficient in MS Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience using ESRI Geodatabases and OnBase highly preferred
- Familiarity with versioning tools such as Git as well as Azure DevOps
Minimum Qualifications:
Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered. Requires associate degree or the equivalent of two years of college or vocational school education in computer technology, network administration, information systems management or a closely related field with four (4) years of related experience.
