Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a full time, permanent Dentist in our Dental Services Department. The Dental Services Department is responsible for the comprehensive general dental care for residents and selected outpatients. Patient age may range from 5 years through adulthood. Services include a broad spectrum of general dental care such as diagnosis and treatment planning, restorative dentistry, oral surgery, periodontics, endodontics, and prosthodontics. Treatment may be provided using conscious sedation or general anesthesia. Referral of cases as needed is available. Communication with guardians to obtain informed consent is required for dental extraction cases. Dentists on staff freely consult with one another in a professional and collegial work environment; as well as collaborate/participate on interdisciplinary medical and behavioral teams.

This is a full-time position (Monday - Friday 8a-5p) with Benefits. Must be able to commute to Butner.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities / Competencies

• Have some knowledge of the special complexities of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• Thorough knowledge of dental practice and developments in the field of dentistry.
• Considerable knowledge of dental health problems in the community or health facilities to which assigned.
• Ability to supervise assigned personnel.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, departmental personnel from other professional disciplines within the institution, clinic, or community setting

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

• Licensed to practice dentistry in the state of North Carolina.
• Applicant with four or more years of experience.
