Area Offices operate in the communities of Alton, Carlinville, Decatur, Effingham, Granite City, Mattoon, Quincy, and Springfield. Job Summary:
The Development & Marketing Assistant’s primary responsibilities will include managing our donor database and social media platforms. In addition, they will provide administrative assistance and support to the Development & Marketing Director through various duties and management projects.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Maintain the donor database
- Manage social media platforms & content management schedule
- Create content in Canva
- Manage monthly numbers report from area offices
- Prepare donor letters & cards
- Assist with the remittance process during special appeals
- Assist in creating content for donor newsletters
- Assist with creation of marketing materials
- Assist with collecting client stories & photos
- Assist in video creation for promotional materials
- Assist in monitoring/managing website content
- Support with event planning for fundraisers
- Proofread outgoing materials or online content for accuracy
- Other duties as assigned by Development & Marketing Director
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Experience in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Experience or knowledge of social media platforms
- Excellent data entry with minimal errors
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent proofreading skills
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Work well with minimal supervision in a busy environment with a wide variety of staff
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required; associates degree preferred
- Maintain professionalism at all times, presenting an energetic and positive attitude
- Knowledge of the Catholic Charities mission and programs
- Experience or an understanding knowledge of the development/fundraising & marketing field is preferred but not required
Related Job Requirements: Minimal evening/weekend work and some travel may be required to other area offices within the Diocese.
