Position Concept

A leadership position responsible for the overall administration of the Eckerd Connects Educational Services Department. Primary responsibilities for this position include operation of online high school, managing accreditation, and liaising with state and federal partners.

Essential Functions

  • Provides liaison with local, state and federal educational and governmental units to improve the compatibility of Eckerd Connects' educational systems with corresponding systems.
  • Provides functional oversight with appropriate Eckerd Connects department heads regarding the annual periodic preparation of education budgets, contract agreements, evaluations, and audit reports.
  • Directs all Eckerd Connects educational accreditations.
  • Develops educational specifications for new initiatives in accordance with local and state guidelines.
  • Oversees the implementation of training components for new administrative and instructional personnel.
  • Oversees the development, publication, and training of Eckerd Connects-specific curriculum materials.
  • Works with all Eckerd Connects programs in problems-related to curriculum and instruction, selection of appropriate materials, methods of presenting materials, and problems with securing materials including technology for the classroom.
  • Coordinates the development of in-service training and staff development programs as related to state DOE or DOL certification mandates and Eckerd Connects educational program initiatives.
  • Directs the process of interagency educational agreements throughout the Eckerd Connects system.
  • Oversees state and federal mandates assessment initiatives, while ensuring compatibility with Eckerd Connects' programming.
  • Tracks state-specific certification requirements and renewal processing. Maintains system-wide certification database.


Position Specifications

Education: Graduate of an accredited college of university with a Master's degree preferred in Public School Administration or related field.
Experience: Five to seven years of increasingly responsible educational supervisory and administrative experience.
Skills: Leadership, public policy analysis, collaborative skills, promoting diversity, business planning, continuous improvement, professional expertise, planning and organization, verbal, and written communication skills. Interrelationship between child development, family interaction, group behavior, education, and social work. Public school finance. Federal and state law governing exceptional student education, ESOL, and alternative education.
Other: Must have appropriate and valid state driver’s license. Must meet state criminal background check requirements.
Physical Demands: Ability to sit for extended periods of time. Ability to occasionally lift/move up to 25 pounds.
