Description:

What are your skills and interests? We have a wide variety of opportunities to share your gifts and passions with others! You will get paid while you are supporting a person to learn how to access community locations such as recreation centers, restaurants, coffee shops, libraries, volunteering, local festivals, parks, etc. Interested in helping individuals learn vocational skills? Supervise individuals with disabilities in basic work skills and quality control in a warehouse setting. Help them explore other occupations and jobs in the community to help them along their career path and celebrate their accomplishments.
Essential Job Functions:
- Provide supervision, instruction and support to ensure health and safety of the individuals enrolled in the program in a supportive and relaxed atmosphere alongside other staff
- Assist people to expand their social network while maintaining a professional contacts with families, providers, co-workers and community members
- Work with other SAW team members and individual support systems to provide training to assist individuals to achieve their life goals
- Provide information regarding progress, gained interests, needed supports and encouragement with other team members to help individuals enrolled to lead their best life
- Keep records of opportunities provided, progress made, difficulties encountered
- Provide transportation to community opportunities with SAW Inc. provided vehicles
- Assist individuals to learn strategies and provide support to manage conflicts and mental health difficulties
- Provide supports for medication administration and first aid response under the direction of a SAW Inc. nurse
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Must have and maintain a valid driver license and driving record that meets the underwriting criteria of the agency’s insurance company.
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Obtain/maintain CPR/First Aid certification.
- Experience working with the DD population is a plus.
