POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Global Regulatory Affairs manages all matters of the company’s regulatory initiatives and compliance. This position coordinates compliance efforts with relevant stakeholders such as Legal, Risk Management, Supply Chain, Quality Assurance, Marketing, Sales, Project Management Office, R&D, Packaging, and Operations.
The Director of Global Regulatory Affairs provides updates on existing and future (Horizon Scanning) key legislation that could affect existing products and new product development via executive summaries. This position will provide excellent customer service and maintain positive business relationships with internal and external customers and/or vendors.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure regulatory compliance for new and existing product’s labeling and registration from a global perspective; specifically: United States, South America, and European Union
- Provides regulatory expertise for new strategic areas and technologies as required for New Product Development including the areas of research, regulatory operations, study requirements and regulatory compliance expectations during early development.
- Leads and develops the Regulatory team to identify regulatory issues and concerns to develop regulatory strategies for the project(s) at all lifecycle stages.
- Identify business risks and clearly communicate regulatory red flags to executive level decision makers within the business.
- Manage and maintain relationships between third party certifying bodies (Kosher, Non-GMO Project, etc.)
- Oversee regulatory standards, systems, processes and standard operating procedures and verify that operating actions meet requirements as defined by the company, federal, state and foreign statutes.
- Serve as an influential spokesperson with governing agencies and third party administrators, including leading meetings and preparations to facilitate expedited approval of original applications and supplements for ASR led innovation or existing portfolio
- Represent regulatory perspectives in strategic business planning, commercialization and business development, and growth strategies.
- Develop and manage regulatory budgets and resources and actively support interdepartmental teamwork and accountability against specified targets.
- Manage any regulatory application processes and work with team to ensure successful submissions and perform leadership role in regulatory interactions within the company and with regulatory agencies.
- Develop an effective process to draft, submit and represent application data to regulatory authorities.
- Provide market intelligence on existing and future key legislation (Horizon Scanning).
- Ensure the creation of Global Regulatory Affairs SOPs as to facilitate best-in-class regulatory standards.
- Identify, review, assess then present key metrics to executive leadership for all service-level agreements.
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Professional Experience - Seven years (7) of experience in Global Regulatory Affairs.
- Leadership Experience – Five years (5) of management experience.
- Recent experience in the Food & Beverage or CPG industry is strongly preferred.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field required.
- Master’s Degree in Regulatory Affairs or Nutrition Science is strongly preferred but not required.
SOFTWARE EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) via SAP is preferred.
- Workflow by Design Artwork Review system is preferred.
- Genesis Nutritional Software is preferred.
LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
- None although multilingual (Quebec- French, Spanish, Portuguese) is preferred but not required.

- Yes
TRAVEL
- Up to 30%, both domestic and international travel will be required.
