Summary:
The Director of Laboratory & Pathology Services oversees and establishes long range plans and service programming for lab and path services. The Director is responsible for business development of lab and path services for the integrated delivery system. The Director works closely with hospital, clinic, and medical leadership to achieve regulatory compliance and long-range goals. The Director directs, analyzes, and participates in decisions of major equipment and capital purchases.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Primary responsibility includes planning, organizing, and directing the overall operation of the Laboratory and Pathology Departments.
  • Establishes standards, normal values, and methods of control for each laboratory test performed.
  • Plans, designs, and directs installation of new or improved laboratory techniques.
  • Prepares and administers laboratory budget.
  • Maintains and strengthens relationships with regional partners and internal operational leaders.
  • Directs purchase and maintains contracts of laboratory equipment and supplies while recommending purchase of capital equipment.
  • Designs and administers regulatory and quality control program for each section.
  • Coordinates and conducts education and training programs for medical technology students and personnel.
  • Oversees financial and operations of DakMinn Blood Donor Center.
Certifications
  • Cytotechnologist (CT) | American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) | Within 12 Months of Start Date | HR Primary Sources

  • Professional Licensure (MLS, MT, CLS) | North Dakota Board of Clinical Laboratory Practice | Prior to Start Date | HR Primary Sources

Notes:
  • Must be licensed as a Cytotechnologist OR carry a Professional Lab license through the state of North Dakota
Education:
  • Preferred: Masters - Business Administration/Management
Work Experience:
  • Required: A minimum of 10 years Related Experience
