Overview:
OMNI has been retained by Tri-County Mental Health Services (TCMHS) in the search and selection for a Director of Access and Crisis Services to be responsible for executive leadership, supervision and management of the current crisis response team and the growing 988 mobile crisis services team, including assessment and intake and crisis response functions.

Based in Kansas City, Missouri, Tri-County Mental Health Services works with adults and children in Clay, Platte, and Ray Counties of Missouri to provide prevention, mental health, and substance use services. Servicing more than 9,000 individuals per year, Tri-County Mental Health’s mission is to provide quality assured and person-centered care, with increased attention to the whole person.
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Chief Clinical Officer, this role will:
  • Oversee and manage the agency’s crisis response services, including the new 988 Mobile Crisis Response.
  • Directly manage 3 Managers who oversee teams totaling 25 individuals.
  • Ensure appropriate screening and response to callers seeking services. Act as resource for access to TCMHS services and community resources.
  • Supervise hiring, training and supervision of intake and assessment staff, front desk staff, and access and crisis staff.
  • Responsible for budget preparation and monitoring and program development for each area.
  • Ensure compliance of agency and provider intake/crisis clinicians and provide compliance related training as needed.
  • Maintain knowledge of agency technology programs and/or systems.
  • Serve as QMHP back-up to provide crisis intervention for all outpatient services.
  • Participate as an active member of Executive Team with strong collaboration.
Qualifications:
  • Master’s Degree or above in counseling, psychology, social work, or closely related field.
  • Current licensure as a LCSW or LPC in Missouri or willing to obtain upon hire.
  • 3+ years’ relative experience in crisis management, mental health and/or substance abuse.
  • Strong knowledge of clinical best practices in behavioral health.
  • Experience building and leading a strong team in a fast paced, fluid environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to comply with the mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy, in compliance with Federal ADA guidelines.
