Our communities are now open in Ringwood and Lake in the Hills, IL. Our 3 ranches are each home to 9-18 Seniors. Our communities strategies focus on sustaining and renewing vitality by encouraging authentic relationships, offering stimulating mental and physical activities and partnering in their own care and care of others.

The Heathers is looking to hire an energetic Director of Health and Wellness (Nursing) who shares our passion, vision and desire while leading the day-to-day operations of our communities. This role is responsible for managing and coordinating the Nursing Team to ensure the highest quality of care is met directly and individually for each resident.

• Works cooperatively with residents, Care Partners, volunteers, medical professional organizations including IDPH and families to ensure residents are receiving the best quality care.
• Develops, maintains and implements nursing policies and procedures that conform to current nursing standards while maintains The Heathers Senior Homes philosophy and operational policies in accordance with compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.
• Participates in admission decisions and visits to assess prospective Residents before admission, assessments, evaluations, Level of care, medication orders, physician orders, etc. Exercises overall supervision of continued resident assessments, care plans and service plans.
• Participates in weekly, monthly and/or quarterly management team meetings.
• Participates in the recruitment and selection and orientation of Nursing and Care Partner Team. Proactively develops positive Team Member relationships, incentives and recognition programs.
• Evaluates the team performance and provides coaching, performance enhancement reviews and discipline as needed.
• Communicates and implements policies and procedures to all nursing staff and monitors their practice, implementation and compliance with IDPH standards.
• Supervises and develops in-service education for all nurses and care partners.
• Create monthly Nursing schedule.
• On call every other weekend.
• Creates and oversees nursing schedules to assure they meet the needs and budgetary standards.
• Prepares for the annual state surveys with the Executive Director and assists with correction or responses to an inspection or survey.
• Maintains the required dementia training.
• Additional Duties as needed. This is a general outline of the position

Qualifications:

• Registered Professional Nurse
• Minimum of 2 years of management experience with persons with dementia
• Knowledge of current state and federal laws and regulations that apply to the practice of nursing in Assisted Living care settings
• Proven Management / Leadership Skills and experience managing an engaged team.
• Proficient computer skills
• Must be a team-oriented individual who enjoys working collaboratively with others, creating a positive and uplifting environment, and communicating very effectively at all levels.
• Must be able to respond quickly and appropriately to an emergency situation.
• Must be able to manually lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently.
• Must be able to driver between locations as well as drive to complete assessments.
