JOB SUMMARY

The Director of Reboot will manage and direct the Reboot Ministry at Community Bible Church, facilitating effective counseling and support to First Responder individuals and families, as well as Combat veterans and others who have experienced general trauma. The Director will be familiar with services and resources in the community and work closely to provide information and support when required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

· Further develop a growing Reboot ministry to include management of the First Responders and General Traum Reboot groups and initiation of a Combat Veterans Reboot group

  • Recruit, train, and empower leaders for Reboot classes and events
  • Communicate regularly with volunteer leaders, teaching and equipping them for their role as facilitators
  • Play an integral role in Care and Support leadership recruitment and placement
  • Leader interviews, follow-up with leader application packets, and other responsibilities to help move potential leaders through the leadership process
  • Responsible for responding to requests from First Responders, Combat Veterans and other individuals with trauma experiences. Make sensitive decisions and referrals regarding needs for counseling and support groups
  • Provide counseling for couples and individuals and successfully manage client caseload and weekly schedule
  • Deliver individual and marital counseling services, case management services, education, and community outreach services, and referrals to appropriate services and community resources
  • Reports client abuse, neglect and exploitation as required by the state and applicable laws
  • Maintenance of client treatment files in accordance with agency and HIPAA policies and procedures
  • Maintain strict confidentiality guidelines regarding all clients, conversations, and referrals
  • Provide congregational and community education and support programs
  • Participate in department planning through participation in director’s meetings
  • Embrace and embody the mission, vision, guiding principles, clinical vision, and goals of Community Bible Church and the Care and Support Ministry
  • Prayer support for staff, ministry, group leaders, initiatives, volunteers, and Pastor
  • Provide treatment referrals, as required, assisting individuals in identifying their need for additional treatment.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This is a full-time position, Sun.-Thurs., with availability to work evenings and weekends, as needed. Occasional special events may be needed as job duties demand.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to do the following:

  • Must have good or corrected vision as well as effective peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
  • Must have good manual dexterity and be able to use repetitive motion of the hands, wrists, and arms
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to move about inside the office and file rooms to perform a variety of tasks
  • Must be able to frequently and effectively communicate in both written and verbal form
  • Must be able to frequently lift 15 pounds and/or push/pull objects up to 50 pounds
  • Occasional reaching, stooping, kneeling, bending, and crouching
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members at all levels of the organization

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelors or Masters’ Degree in Counseling or related Social Science degree preferred
  • Current state licensure in counseling related profession (LPC, LCSW, LMFT)
  • 5 year’s experience as a licensed counselor preferred
  • Individual and group counseling experience
  • Prefer personal experience with trauma recovery programs
  • Experience as First Responder and/or combat experience
  • Experience in CBC groups as either leader or participant is a plus
  • CBC Member, Wise Counsel Graduate, or willing to complete Wise Counsel training

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Duties are performed in an office setting where the work and general environment may be hectic at times. Therefore, it is essential that the employee can effectively handle the normal anxieties associated with the job and manage multiple projects in a service-oriented environment. Environmental noise levels are minimal.
