Opportunity Overview:

This role will be a hunter sales position focused primarily on identifying, developing and closing net new Health Plan business in a defined territory. We believe strongly that the Regional and Mid-Sized health plan accounts are underserved and ripe for mass adoption of Cohere Health's novel platform, due to regulations, Medical Cost pressure and Utilization trend. You will be responsible for building pipeline, managing complex sales cycles, and achieving quota with a generous and results oriented compensation package. To be successful you should be able to manage multi-internal and external stakeholders, focus on CXO relationships, supporting seed funding for novel ROI DRIVEN tech. Ideally you will have experience with healthcare "interoperability" standards and a firm understanding of the clinical care delivery system and provider/health plan collaboration points of data distribution.

What you will do:

  • Reporting to the Vice President of Sales, the person in this role is responsible for identifying, managing, and closing new business
  • Meet or exceed assigned sales objectives and quotas, and build new revenue streams through the net new customer acquisition and growth of the business relationships with Health Plans aligned to their territory
  • Work with customers to understand and identify their objectives and needs while aligning our products and services to compete against legacy and antiquated solutions
  • Responsible for the sale of SaaS platform and professional services
  • Support sales & marketing programs, RFP's, bids & other customer requirements to grow sales & strengthen relationships
  • Communicate the value proposition and Return on Investment (ROI) to prospective customers
  • Develop and manage sales cycle to analyze and manage pipeline activity and monitor sales activity against assigned quotas
  • Thoroughly understand, research and significantly influence customer's decision-making process using trust building mechanisms and a consultative selling approach
  • Perform sales presentations/demonstrations
  • Work with internal support teams to deliver solutions for our customer's needs
  • You will ACTIVELY seek out new sales leads and business opportunities through active networking, cold calls, marketing efforts and utilizing business referrals and Cohere's investor network.

Your background & requirements:

  • Bachelors degree
  • Minimum of 5-7 years health payer sales experience and track record of quota achievement and "net new" account acquisition
  • Payer Market Expertise with strong knowledge of sales methodology, territory planning, process optimization and data analysis
  • Ability to demonstrate thought leadership in Healthcare across multiple channels and become a trusted advisor to senior technical and business decision makers
  • Physically located west of the Mississippi River, preferred
  • Understanding of complex sales cycles at strategic level with capability to provide clear, balanced advice/counsel on a broad range of strategic and complex management, product and go to market issues
  • Ability to develop and deploy the strategy that drives customer partnership, revenue growth and retention
  • Customer centric with the ability to adjust plans and actions to meet changing market and/or customer needs and ability to put creative deals together to drive business growth
  • Demonstrated ability to exceed goals with results-oriented style, high degree of analytical ability and proven problem-solving skills including ability to build consensus, and rally members to achieve results
  • Highly organized and proficient at executing when experiencing multiple competing priorities
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an open, honest and direct communication style and ability to build relationships across an organization to accomplish goals
  • General knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Mac, Salesforce and healthcare information systems
  • Willingness to engage in both tactical hands-on work and strategic work as needed to manage and complete priorities
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% of the time
