Title: Director, Sales Strategy and Planning
Location: Atlanta, GA
Managerial Responsibilities:
- Coaches and develops sales planning organization responsible for Writing BU brands with US Commercial (B2B), Home Center/Hardware and Department/Specialty Channels
- Responsible for performance management of respective sales planning team
Channel/Customer Strategy:
- Coaches sales planning team on developing successful customer strategy. Develops Where and How to Win strategy to help educate and focus internal resources
- Supports Sales team in identifying and progressing new channel/customer distribution opportunities to advance market position
- Seeks leadership alignment on Big Bet investment proposals to advance mutually beneficial NWL priorities with Customers
- Owns and maintains Strategic Customer Segmentation
Annual Plan Development & Delivery:
- Plan Development Phase
- Coaches sales planning team on annual planning process for strategic customers, inclusive of bottoms up sales forecasting, building blocks for key drivers and risks/opportunities.
- Completes roll-up of annual plans to help inform budgeting process and determine where gaps exist. Drive resolution process to address gaps.
- In-Period Management
- Responsible for Sales Planning Call as an input to S&OP cycle specifically at DRM. Focus on driving improvements to forecast accuracy and attainment
- Product supply prioritization, allocation recommendations, and sales communication
- Innovation Sell-In and Progress Reporting
Liaison Between Sales & Marketing:
- Represent voice of customer internally represent voice of company externally; always seeking to drive objective alignment
Customer P&L Management
- Leads sales review of optimization opportunities (Exit or Fix) on negative margin SKUs/Customers
- Responsible for financial analysis on Price Exceptions and ITN investments outside of existing guardrails
Customer Price Strategy Execution:
- Articulates competitive pricing strategy by channel/customer – desired retail price gaps, key thresholds
- Lead pricing action strategy with internal thought leadership and preparing sales for execution/negotiation
Support Customer Engagements:
- Coaches and develops sales planning to prepare for successful customer engagements inclusive of line reviews, joint business planning sessions and trade shows.
