Position Overview
The Director, Training & Development is responsible for the management, development and implementation of training programs and initiatives for employees within the Midsouth Region.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Function
Direct, manage and coordinate the Frontline Leadership Program (FLP).
- Act as the Regional Subject Matter Expert (SME) for FLP and ensure all content is most current.
- Coordinate with operation partners; identifying, developing, and obtaining FLP facilitator certifications.
- Support, Coach, and Develop FLP facilitators; ensuring a sustainable culture and program.
- Assist in the development and execution of Region and Operating Company FLP plans.
- Work closely with AMAT’s FLP manager; ensure program alignment, data collection and reporting.
Direct, manage and coordinate the continued evolution of the Human Performance (HP) culture.
- Coordinate with safety and performance partners to ensure a continued sustainable cultural evolution.
- Support, Coach, and Develop HP Region and OpCo champions, facilitators, and LT Coaches.
- Ensure the continued implementation of HP into operational processes.
Direct, manage and coordinate the Midsouth Region Academy (Employee Career Development).
- Lead the Midsouth Region Academy development and implementation steering committee.
- Collaborate with peers and leaders to evaluate and obtain feedback to revise the academy as needed.
- Oversight of the New Hire Orientation process; coordinating with peers in HR and safety.
- Clear communication of LMS, internal, external and other development course catalogs & opportunities.
- Continue transition of the Supervisor Fundamentals program into the Academy.
- Align NCCER courses and establish as key curriculum within the Academy.
- Obtain/Sustain NCCER sponsor accreditation and internal master trainer(s) certification.
- Identify, Develop, and Certify course trainers for delivery of NCCER courses.
- Coordinate and manage training curriculum design and development.
- Consult with support and business management to conduct training needs analysis.
- Develop and maintain strong cross functional relationships with all areas and lines of business.
- Support the Safety team in managing the New Hire Safety Onboarding Process (30-60-90 day).
- Work closely with and support the recruitment team on programs to recruit and develop new talent.
- Developing relationships and co-creating curriculum with technical colleges and high schools.
- Act as the Regional Subject Matter Expert (SME), provide support for, and manage the division’s use of the Learning Management System (LMS), Success Factors.
- Conduct research to evaluate and recommend training programs, consultants, and opportunities.
- Focus should be placed on adult learning, blended learning, and learning programs.
- Participate, collaborate and communicate with local and national associations.
- Manage and coordinate the Regional Intern and Mentor programs.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Education/Experience
Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience
Work Requirements
5 – 7 years business experience, preferably in construction or related industry
3 – 5 years training and development experience; including content creation and delivery
