Job Description


This position will support University of Missouri Stores by assisting with the design, implementation, maintenance, and documentation of static and dynamic web sites with an emphasis on photography and online marketing for e-commerce sites.
This position will be primarily focused on assisting with ecommerce for multiple campus bookstores, retail stores, and e-commerce web sites which serve state, national, and international customers; and directs customers to main and subsidiary campus and retail store locations which include University of Missouri Campus Stores on the Rolla, UMKC, and UMSL campuses; and The Mizzou Store.

Essential Functions
Shoot and develop product photos to ensure they are website ready, and/or ready for use in publications and other materials.
Assist with web design and maintenance of six retail websites, ensuring that the sites meet accessibility and branding standards.
Organize and maintain job schedules ensuring projects are completed within production deadlines.
Consult with and advise manager and/or other responsible persons regarding job status and special requirements.
Assist the E-Commerce Manager in monitoring visual branding policies and procedures to ensure technical and creative consistency.
Contribute to additional creative communication and projects as needed.
Ensure that photography equipment is updated and configured to run efficiently.

Additional Responsibilities
Maintain product photography standards for all product types.
Provide support in day to day tasks during peak times.
Supervision Received (as defined by MU)
Functional supervision is received from department managers and the ecommerce manager

Physical Requirements (as defined by MU)
Position requires standing and walking.
Must be able to bend, squat, and reach regularly.
Capable of moving and transporting materials regularly.
Communicate orally and in writing with various audiences.
Must be able to work weekends, evenings, and varying hours as required.


Salary


$12.00 an hour

Shift


Flexible schedule up to 20 hours weekly during store hours.

Minimum Qualifications


To be eligible for a student title, an individual must be enrolled at the University of Missouri. Enrollment in the summer session is not required if the student was enrolled in the Spring semester and is pre-enrolled for the Fall semester. Selection is contingent upon results of a review with the Office of Institutional Equity, Office of Student Accountability & Support, Office of the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, previous MU appointment history, and reference checks.

Preferred Qualifications


Currently pursuing a degree in one of the following fields:

  • Web Design
  • Photography
  • Photojournalism
  • Advertising
  • Graphic Design
  • Marketing
  • OR other field in which professional photography or web design is an asset
