Position Summary:
Hiring an Early/Pre-College Advisor to advise potential and current students in the Bristol Bay and Aleutian-Pribilof regions. Work closely with school districts on dual credit classes. Office space is available in Dillingham and Unalaska, this position has a remote option within the Bristol Bay and Aleutian Pribilof Region.Duties:
- Ability to comprehend and apply university policies and procedures as they relate to students, public speaking skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, computer skills, effective listening and comprehending skills, cross-cultural experience, and distance delivery experience.
- Ability to travel on small aircraft and stay several days in villages multiple times throughout the semester.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
- Demonstrated customer service experience.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field and two years relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Experience working or teaching in a high school setting. Counseling experience.
- Work collaboratively with organizations within the campus service area.
- Experience with distance learning programs.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Audio & Video Conferencing.
Bachelor's degree in related field and two years relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
This is a full-time, 9-month, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. New hires will be placed on the UA staff salary schedule (Bristol Bay), Grade 78, based on education and experience.
