Borton-Lawson is looking for a Electrical & Instrumentation Technical Leader to help us with our growing workload of oil & gas projects. Candidate should have the ability to learn new software, procedures and be highly motivated who can work well in a team environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Technical and team leadership of engineers and designers in the electrical and I&C team for Oil & Gas Projects. O&G projects types include well-pads, compression, Interconnects, M&R, LNG, RNG, and Hydrogen
- Develop and execute E&I scopes of work and schedules for respective projects.
- Coordination and review of E&I drawings and deliverables.
- The ability to lead internal and external communication for E&I technical aspects and scheduling.
- Coordinate with Project Managers and other disciplines on equipment requirements, and specifications
- Coordinate with project specific sub-consultants and vendors.
- Technical evaluation of vendor/contractor proposals.
- Perform technical QA/QC reviews and coordinate with engineers, discipline technical leaders and designers to ensure that the project/clients specifications are met.
- Provide leadership and mentoring to design staff on professional goals, skill-sets and improvements.
- Project site visits, support, site walkdowns, as-builts and project scoping
- Supervisor meetings, employee one-on-ones, to facilitate workflow between the various members of the internal design teams.
Required Experience:
- Bachelor of Science degree in an electrical engineering or related degree with a minimum of 8 years in Electrical or Controls design work plus a minimum of 3 years in an Electrical or Control leadership role
- Direct experience in coordinating electrical or controls designs across other disciplines. (Mechanical, Process, Civil/Structural)
- Design experience with low and medium voltage applications, switchgear, MCC’s
- Familiar with control systems, instrumentation and P&IDs
- Electrical analysis software experience such as ETAP and/or SKM is a plus
- Knowledgeable in NFPA, NEC including AGA, ANSI/NEMA, IEEE, API
- Detailed orientated person with high organizational and communication skills.
- Licensed P.E. and ability to gain reciprocity preferred. EIT experience will be strongly considered with ability to obtain P.E. in near future
