The total compensation for this position is $55,120 to $68,470 per year. It is expected that the total compensation would be near the top end of that range. The total compensation comes from an hourly rate of $26.50/hr. ($55,120/yr.), around 4 hours of time and a half overtime per week paid at $39.75/hr. ($7,950/yr.), per diem paid at $60 per day for about 65 days per year ($3,900/yr.) and a quarterly bonus that has historically ranged from $350-400 (around $1,500/yr.) Hotel and all approved travel expenses are paid by the company when traveling.

Our Marietta, GA Commercial Services department is currently seeking a Structural Engineer or Mechanical Engineer. The Commercial Services department specializes in the design, inspection, testing and installation of suspended access and fall protection equipment on commercial buildings and industrial facilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Hands-on engineering

· Meet clients and generate proposals for inspections, testing and installations

· Perform inspections on suspended access and fall protection equipment in accordance with OSHA, ANSI, IWCA and ASME requirements

· Manage projects including load testing equipment and equipment installations from start to finish

· Serve as Project Manager being main point of contact/communication with client

· Provide oversight and direction to project team members to ensure a successful project

· Perform engineering calculations on equipment and supporting structural elements

· Generate design drawings and specifications for suspended access and fall protection equipment

· Manage subcontractors assisting with installations

· Review/Generate certification reports and equipment layouts

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

· Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering/Structural Engineering or Mechanical Engineering

· Entry level to 3 years of structural engineering, mechanical engineering, and/or construction experience

· Strong oral and written communications skills, with the ability to interact with all levels of customer representatives

· Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail

· Hands on experience with simple mechanical tools

· Good organizational and project management skills

· Strong safety awareness in a variety of construction settings

· Ability and willingness to work near roof edges at heights with proper fall protection

· Ability to manage multiple projects/deadlines and deliver on time

· Experience/familiarity with Autodesk AutoCAD software

· Experience/familiarity with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, etc.)

· Willingness to travel at least 30% (6-7 nights per month away from home on average)

· Willingness to work in the field at customer sites ~50%

· Willingness to work occasional night and weekend projects v/s normal day shifts

· Be team oriented and have a positive attitude

Candidates with the following are preferred:

- Inspection and/or construction experience

-E.I.T. certification (or ability to obtain in 3 months of hire date)

- Knowledge of performing calculations for structural components (i.e. concrete slabs, steel/concrete beams, columns, etc.) using applicable codes and standards (AISC, ACI, IBC, etc.)

- Experience with Autodesk Revit (BIM software) developing documents and details for construction.
