The Entitlements Supervisor would be responsible for the direct supervision of the Entitlement Specialists team. Entitlements Supervisor will play a crucial role in obtaining and managing Medicaid, Social Security, SNAP, and insurance benefits for individuals receiving residential and/or day services from SCO Family of Services, OPWDD, and OMH programs. These programs encompass a wide range of services, including Family Care, Individual Residential Alternatives, Intermediate Care Facilities, Community Residence, RTF, and Foster Care (29i) programs.

Responsibilities:

• Supervision: Directly supervise the Entitlement Specialists team, providing guidance, support, and training as needed.
• Benefit Acquisition: Responsible for obtaining all necessary entitlements, such as Medicaid, Social Security, SNAP, and insurance benefits, for eligible individuals. Ensure comprehensive coverage and timely acquisition of benefits.
• Benefit Monitoring: Continuously monitor Medicaid and Social Security benefit amounts to ensure ongoing eligibility and appropriate benefit levels.
• Representation and Relationship Management: Represent the consumers and our agency at local government offices, particularly the local Social Security office. Develop and maintain positive relationships with relevant agencies to facilitate efficient and effective benefit processing.
• Appeals and Fair Hearings: File appeals and fair hearings when entitlements are in question, advocating for the rights and entitlements of our clients.
• Support and Training: Provide support to Entitlement Specialists, offering training and keeping them updated on regulatory requirements. Collaborate with program staff on intake and discharge planning, ensuring client benefit eligibility is taken into account.
• Collaboration with Rep Payee Program Manager: Work closely with the Rep Payee Program Manager to monitor benefit levels, ensuring full reimbursement and identifying any potential overpayments.

The Entitlements Supervisor will be instrumental in ensuring positive outcomes for our clients and families and contribute to providing comprehensive support and services to individuals in need.

Qualifications - External

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting, preferred

Must have four years of Entitlement or Case Management experience, including advanced knowledge of Medicaid and Social Security regulations. Advanced knowledge of Medicaid law, POMS or MRG a plus. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, and good oral and written communication skills.

This is an office position, currently temporarily remote, requiring frequent travel to various locations such as Social Security and Social Services. (NYC and LI)
