Hobart Weigh/Wrap is part of the ITW Food Equipment Group. We are seeking a qualified Software Engineer. This position will be based in Troy, Ohio centrally located to Columbus, Dayton, and Cincinnati.

As a Software Engineer you will be responsible for both coding and software release management. This role is vital for ensuring that Hobart maintains quality in their products and delivers on customer expectations.

Primary Responsibilities

• Expert at developing code and refining requirements
• Own builds, releases and continuous integration process for Scale and Wrapper product lines.
• Assists in driving initiatives and defining standards.
• Troubleshoots and problems solves bugs and creates fixes.
• Travel to manufacturing plant and customers as required. Up to 15% travel required.

• Bachelor Degree Computer Science or Computer Engineering
• Experience with the following are a plus - Linux, Object Oriented Design with C++ Programming Language, Makefile and/or autotools, Qt and Python, Yocto and/or Buildroot.
• Understanding and proficiency in computer-related software packages (Microsoft Office, etc.) and additional engineering specific software such as GIT, SVN, Confluence, Jira, PLM, and project management tools.
• Strong problem-solving capabilities.
• The ability to build relationships through all levels of the organization, cross-functionally, and with external customers/suppliers.
• Excellent written and verbal communication to articulate specific technical assignments.
