Estimator for Multi-Story Construction Project

We are seeking a dynamic Project Estimator to join our team at our corporate office in Huntington Beach, CA. The Project Estimator is part of our experienced team which includes Sales, Marketing, and Project & Order Management. Using the Architects’ drawings, and with information gathered by our Sales staff, the Project Estimator assesses the overall project and develops a costed scope of work. The scope of work and project configuration information is utilized by Sales to complete project proposals for clients and prospects. What you may do in a day:

• Assess all bid documents for constructability and product requirements. Develop a scope of work and make recommendations to customers.
• Prepare item & quantity takeoffs to support production/unit pricing calculations. Identify other cost variables (travel, subsistence, shipping, rental, labor, etc.) for inclusion in the estimate.
• Create detailed, accurate estimates using CRM and proprietary systems.
• Communicate with builders, architects, and general contractors. Handle RFI’s, make recommendations, respond to client (?) design questions with a relationship building focus.

The ideal Project Estimator will have:

• 1+ years of relevant experience. 1 year estimating residential/commercial properties, preferred.
• Experience with multi-story construction principles and methods as they relate to costs and estimating.
• Prior experience with construction bidding for architectural structures is a plus.
• Proficient in use of MS Office, Excel, Bluebeam and related tools.
• Familiarity with contract requirements for compliance, evaluation, and applications is essential.
• Strong, clear, and effective verbal and written communication skills.
• $60,000 - $80,000 a year DOE
