Eddy Village Green is looking for a dynamic leader to lead our 192 bed, Green House model nursing home. The Green House is an innovative approach to providing nursing home care, where the resident is at the center of all decision making.

The Green House model seeks to de-institutionalize nursing home care by transforming the environment and the philosophy of care. As opposed to the traditional institution, the model is comprised of smaller homes, enhancing care by facilitating closer relationships between caregivers and residents.

Eddy Village Green at Cohoes features 16 ranch-style houses, each accommodating 12 residents. The homes are complete with private bedrooms and baths, and family-style country kitchens with living/dining areas. While the houses are homes in every way, security and technology are built in to ensure resident safety.

Care is provided by self-managed teams of nurses and direct care staff who are responsible for the 12 elders living within their assigned house. Residents are encouraged to be active participants in their daily routines and the staff use what they know about their elders to build work routines that honor resident preferences.

The Executive Director position is responsible for all aspects of operations and ensuring that care is delivered in a way that adheres to Green House principles, where all stakeholders are focused on providing “Real Homes”, “Meaningful Lives” and “Empowered Staff.” The ideal Executive Director is an active participant in the daily lives of our residents and models behaviors that are required to sustain an elder-centered environment .

Position Summary :

Accountable to the VP of Regional Operations, the Executive Director is responsible for the overall planning, development, management and operation of Eddy Village Green . The Executive Director will set an example for all staff members, consultants and others affiliated with the facility by prioritizing the needs and preferences of the elders and creating a warm, comfortable environment for relationships to flourish. The Executive Directorwill ensurethat the institution exists to serve the interest and the needs of the residents, emphasizing the importance of a resident’s right to independence regarding all aspects of institutional life and encouraging residents to participateto their fullest capacityin the planning and delivery of their care. The Executive Director is responsible for the day to day functions of the skilled nursing facility in accordance with state and federal regulations and assuring that the highest degree of quality is maintained in the provision of all services .

Education Requirements :

Bachelor’s Degree (Master's Degree in Health Administration preferred)

New York State license as a Nursing Home Administrator.

Experience Requirements :

Minimum of three year’s administration experience managing a licensed nursing home in New York State or healthcare managerial experience .
