Overview:
Our client, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization is seeking a Finance Associate to join their team.

We are looking for a Finance Associate to lead and manage all routine financial tasks of our organization. You will be a strong, strategic, systems-oriented professional with experience managing and building nonprofit finance and administrative functions.

Essential Duties:
  • Own all aspects of accounting, which includes bookkeeping, revenue recognition, reconciliations, document retention, lead schedules
  • Review budget to actuals and analyze drivers of variances
  • Run monthly staff reimbursements
  • Responsible for the invoice payment process
  • Support accounting in four international entities
  • Prepare consolidated financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
  • Manage the annual audit and tax filing process.
  • Prepare financial reports when required by donors.
  • Support on special projects and strategic initiatives, as necessary.
Qualifications:
  • A comprehensive understanding of nonprofit finance, including billing, accounting, taxes, audit, compliance, and financial reporting for nonprofit grants
  • Preparing and updating budgets, conducting financial analysis
  • Demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities, proposing new ways of creating efficiencies
  • Superior organizational skills, with an ability to work independently, meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in software programs including Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; accounting/financial software (QuickBooks online, nonprofit version) and familiarity with Google Suite
  • Experience in collaborating with remote colleagues and employees globally
  • BSc/BA in Accounting, Finance or similar field; relevant certification (e.g. CFA/CPA) is a plus
