  • JOB SUMMARY
    • Works under the supervision of the Controller. Provides accurate, relevant and timely information related to the fiscal operations of the hospital. Responsible for various accounting and financial analysis functions. Performs other duties as assigned.
  • PRIMARY JOB DUTIES
    • Create, develop and maintain automated reports and tools based off customer requirements.
    • Maintain, analyze, and provide reports in Kronos and budgeting and financial reporting software.
    • Responsible for maintaining accurate statistical counting for all departments and assists managers in obtaining necessary data.
    • Assists the hospital’s external auditors and cost report preparation at fiscal year-end by preparing all requested schedules.
    • Assists in the preparation and analysis of the hospital’s operating and capital budget.
    • Perform extensive data mining of financial and statistical information from various sources.
    • Prepare downloads/uploads of data files as necessary to maintain various databases and analyze data for various financial purposes.
    • Assists in the preparation and analysis of monthly financial statements to ensure the financials are accurately stated per GASB/FASB/GAAP.
    • Assist with financial and operational information systems security and confidentiality mechanisms in information systems in accordance with user and/or facility policies and procedures.
    • Participates in efforts toward maintaining components of the financial and operational information systems, including revisions, testing system changes, and integration of changes into the operational environment.
    • Brings to the job a body of knowledge grounded in their previous financial and operational experience. Continuously improve the reporting processes with a focus on simplification and increased insight.
    • Actively participates in Strategic Quality Management for the department and organization. Actively participates in Customer/Guest Relations and Mandatory Education programs.
    • Follows hospital and department policies and procedures.
    • Courteously answers telephones and greets visitors, answers questions in an appropriate manner, uses AIDET at all times.
    • Complies with the hospital’s Corporate Compliance Program including, but not limited to, the Code of Conduct, laws and regulations, and hospital policies and procedures.
    • Must be free from governmental sanctions involving health care and/or financial practices.
    • Ensures confidentiality of all protected information.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • JOB SPECIFICATIONS
    • Education: 4 year degree in Accounting /Finance preferred
    • Licensure: none
    • Experience: Minimum 2 years; previous hospital experience, SQL or Crystal report writing experience preferred
    • Essential Technical/Motor Skills: Ability to type and speak clearly, ability to operate computer and enter data
    • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal communication skills in dealing with public, co-workers, and hospital management.
    • Essential Physical Requirements: Prolonged sitting, bending, reaching
    • Essential Mental Requirements: Strong working knowledge of accounting. Good analytical skills and ability to read, interpret and analyze data. Able to work independently and accurately without close supervision. Ability to cope with pressures and deadlines.
    • Essential Sensory Requirements: Sufficient vision, hearing and speech to perform duties.
    • Exposure to Hazards: OSHA CATEGORY III. TASKS THAT INVOLVE NO EXPOSURE TO BLOOD, BODY FLUIDS, OR TISSUES, AND CATEGORY I TASKS ARE NOT A CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT. The normal work routine involves no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues (although situations can be imagined or hypothesized under which anyone, anywhere might encounter potential exposure to body fluids). Persons who perform these duties are not called upon as part of their employment to perform or assist in emergency medical care or first aid or to be potentially exposed in some other way. Tasks that involve handling of implements or utensils, use of public or shared bathroom facilities or telephones, and personal contacts such as handshaking are Category III Tasks.
