Front Office Manager Job at Marquee Hospitality

Main Duty:
Assists the General Manager's front desk operations of the hotel.
Responsibilities:
  • Exercise of discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance.
  • Assigns duties to staff and observes performance to ensure adherence to hotel policies and established operating procedures.
  • Provides training, including safety training.
  • Responsible for understanding and adhering to attendance guidelines set forth in the employee handbook.
  • Works well with minimal supervision.
  • Receives and resolves or assists in resolving the guest's complaints.
  • Performs functions of the General Manager in their absence.
  • Covers shifts in all departments as necessary.
  • Completes reporting on time and as required by management or brand.
  • Assist, monitor, and or direct Revenue Management efforts.
  • Knowledge and operation of brand operating systems.
  • Review discrepancy reports daily and take the necessary steps to resolve and eliminate discrepancies.
  • Knowledge of all emergency and other corporate or brand procedures and how to act on them.
  • Assist in ensuring staff continues to learn the importance of excellent guest service and implement training programs.
  • Report any unusual occurrences or requests to the General Manager immediately.
  • Setting and achieving sales and profit targets.
  • Recruiting, training, and monitoring of staff.
  • Meeting and greeting customers.
  • Assist in housekeeping duties as needed.
  • Assist with breakfast as needed.
  • Handling customer complaints and comments.
  • Addressing problems and troubleshooting.
  • Carrying out inspections of property and service.
  • Be accountable for the responsibilities of department heads in their absence.
  • Motivate and lead by example for all team members.
  • Check guest in/out, room assignments, and special requests.
  • Knowledge of accounting, cash handling, credit, and billing procedures for all transactions.

Requirements:
  • 1-2 years of hotel experience, preferably in a supervisor role.
  • High school diploma required; hospitality degree preferred.
