Position Summary:
The General Manager is responsible for the successful overall direction, administration and coordination of the Tesuque Casino in accordance with the policies, goals and objectives established by the Company, with the ultimate objective to optimize the financial performance and return on investment to it’s shareholder
Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Creates, develops and implements an effective strategy of corporate organization, setting objectives for future growth in profitability
- Ensures the quality of operations in all aspects of the operation and in collaboration with the Board of Directors
- Establishes performance and profit objectives to satisfy short-term, leading to the achievement of long-term goals.
- Ensures appropriate staffing levels, by interviewing, selecting, training, scheduling and evaluating performance of team members
- Continually reviews, measures and evaluates departmental performance, working with departments to take the appropriate steps necessary to resolve adverse trends and respond to unbudgeted/unpredictable events and circumstances
- Delegates’ responsibility and authority, while maintaining oversight, with regard to various aspects of company operations.
- Ensures an extraordinary level of customer service and satisfaction throughout the Gaming, and other business units
- Facilitates the flow of information throughout the operation and develop effective corporate procedures and controls, by organizing and presiding over regularly scheduled communication meetings.
- Promotes accountability, to the highest degree, for the accuracy and thoroughness of property records and reports with full transparency
- Maintains the property in pristine condition
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly supervises the Management members within the organization, as well as other business units as directed by the Board of Directors. Comply with the organization’s policies, procedures, ordinances and regulations. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; or 10years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Ten years’ experience in the Gaming Industry required. Minimum of seven years management experience on an executive level required. Demonstrated success in Casino Marketing and Games Management
Communication Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex of documents, such as technical journals, financial reports and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to a prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, and public groups.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, and work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
Critical Thinking Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
