POSITION SUMMARY:
The position of Grants Project Manager is responsible for grant development and grant project management of a large organization. This position reports to the department Administrator. NARA NW works with federal, state, local, and foundations soliciting program funding. The grant amounts range from multi-year to short term funding and vary in funding levels. Writing expository and persuasive grant proposals is the primary area of focus. Other key responsibilities include but not limited to identifying federal, state, and local grant opportunities that align with NARA NW initiatives and strategic goals, research, read and interpret federal laws, development of grant components.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
- Researches grant and resource opportunities through electronic resources, complete thorough written analyzes of all grants, for departmental consideration.
- Assists team in identifying resource development tools to facilitate grant-seeking activities.
- Writing strong expository and persuasive grant proposals of an advanced quality to secure external funding for NARA NW. Develop proposals using standard techniques such as logic models, evidence-based models, and other pertinent data.
- Identifies, collects, analyzes, and coordinates with others to identify data needs for resource development projects. Produces grant applications, proposals, and other appropriate resource development materials. Prepares draft applications for approval.
- Performs technical, analytical, and professional tasks with particular emphasis on the collection, interpretation, assessment of feasibility and alignment with NARA NW strategic goals and initiatives, collection and evaluation of data, and the incorporation of data into proposals.
- Completes and assists others in the completion of federal, state, local, and foundation grant opportunities.
- Collaborates with program staff as required for grant development.
Qualifications:
- Planning, project management skills, attention to detail; ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team.
- Ability to write clear, precise, compelling documents (supply recent writing samples)
- Excellent time management skills, with an ability to handle multiple projects and to meet deadlines.
- Ability to understand and execute complex instructions.
- Outstanding computer skills, Standard office equipment/resources, Microsoft Office, software applications, and other like products.
- Highly organized, technical writing, analyzes, and top-shelf research skills.
- Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal skills, displaying emotional intelligence and professional conduct.
- Bachelor's Degree in the relevant field and two-year grant writing/development OR combined experience equivalent to 4 years of grant writing/development.
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries with clients, the community, and other staff members, work collaboratively with clients, other NARA staff, team members, and to treat everyone with respect and dignity at all times.
- Experience working within the Native American/Alaska Native community is considered a plus.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
