Graphic Designer

Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled and creative Graphic Designer to join our team and lead the creation of artwork that has high visual impact.

The role requires the candidate to really think about the end user when designing. By implementing experience design techniques, you will create pieces that resonate and grab the attention of the demographics that we aim to serve. You'll develop creative ideas and concepts, ranging from concept designs for brands, print (large scale such as wall graphics, wraps, etc and smaller projects such as flyers, posters, booklets, and other materials as needed for marketing campaigns), digital, social, signage for internal and external use, occasional animation creation, and logo creation. The work demands creative flair, up-to-date knowledge of industry software and techniques, and a professional approach to time, costs and deadlines.

The candidate for this role will have the opportunity to really bring creativity to the department and will own the design processes for our marketing team. In this role, you have the opportunity to explore, create, and stretch yourself as a designer as you tackle on new projects. We encourage you to use new mediums, take on new tasks, and experiment so that you are always bringing innovative, fresh ideas to our designs.

Responsibilities

o Estimate the time required to complete the work

o Think creatively to produce new ideas and concepts for bid documents, presentations and site visit booklets, social, digital, and print

o Present finalized ideas and concepts to business solution managers, walking them through your thought process

o Proof reading to produce accurate and high-quality work, ensuring grammar and spelling is always correct

o Work on layouts and art working pages ready for print

o Continually look or better ways to create and communicate ideas in a candid and consistent manner

o Demonstrate appreciation of diverse thoughts and perspectives and encourage and accept feedback and conflicting opinions

o Establish and maintain a professional rapport with external printers and agencies, over the production of material

o Keep abreast of emerging technologies in new media through workshops, professional publications and societies, particularly design programs such as Adobe Creative Suite and Procreate.

o Manage more than one design brief at a time, shows a strong ability to multitask

o Able to switch projects quickly as dictated by emerging needs

o Interpret customer’s needs, being able to bring valuable, creative ideas to the table

o Will assist in designing ads, annual reports, artwork, overview booklets, brochures, email templates, logos, signage, t-shirts, social media ads, website cards, and more as dictated by the needs of the position

o Is able to work with a team of creatives ranging from videography, social media, marketing strategy, and graphic design interns to ensure we are meeting deadlines and meeting brand standards

Qualifications

o Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design

o 1-3 years’ experience in a full-time design role

o Able to work with various stakeholders and clients to ensure we are meeting deadlines, providing creative ideas, and staying within brand standards

o A wizard in Adobe Creative Cloud software, specifically Illustrator

o Able to positively receive constructive criticism.

o Must be someone who is able to provide multiple versions of a project before moving forward with a final design

o Must be able to get along well with others on the marketing team and other department heads and external clients

o Must be a strong communicator so that you can help present your ideas efficiently

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour

Experience:

• Graphic design: 1 year (Preferred)
• Adobe Creative Suite: 1 year (Preferred)
• Adobe Illustrator: 1 year (Preferred)
